Adjustable pallet racking is the most widely used and cost effective storage rack type. It is used for pallet unit product. When equipped with pallet support, it may fit different pallet size. With beam height adjustable easily, it fits different pallet unit height. Averagely, the load per level ranges from 500 to 4000kgs. The rack height could be as high as 12 meters per piece.
To design the racking system, we will pay attention to following information:
L: clear length between two adjacent uprights
L1: distance from pallet unit edge to upright
L2: distance between two pallets
L3: distance from pallet unit edge to upright
LP: pallet unit length
HP: pallet unit height
H: rack height
H1: first beam level top to floor
H2: distance between two adjacent beam levels
H3: top beam level to floor, which will be influenced by forklift reach height
H4: overall height including top pallet unit load
H5: clear height above top beam level
HC: clear height between pallet unit to beam bottom above
Z1: distance pallet protrude rack
Z2: distance pallet protrude rack
D: rack depth
DP: pallet depth
Compared with very narrow aisle pallet rack, the wide aisle pallet rack need more clear aisle width, normally above 3200 mm. The practical aisle width depends on your forklift and pallet detail. Please confirm this detail with your forklift supplier.
